Thanks to CNN’s new update on their tv program their is no more “ticker” we just have a flipper. Well if that innovation wasn’t enough they decided to update their brand for CNN Headline News. The new mark reminds me a bit like Bravo with it’s logo.
But that aside from that the new mark doesn’t take center stage atleast on it’s current site design. The type HLN is making the H part of the L to get right to the N or news. Conceptually it comes off as if it’s fast, bold, and a slanted communication point. Which isn’t bad. Overall I think this mark is a mixed success, the weak point is whether or not the brand is unique enough to stand on it’s own in the tv news format. What do you think though?
